BGP MODULE

Whole Brain Method: BGP Module

BGP Module:

The module that aims to make individuals available to use their potential at the maximum level by organizing their brain activity, focuses on academic success and quality of life.

Includes brain growth program that includes a process between the range of 4-7 week,

Concert Sessions, Neurofeedback, Edufeedback Practices, Piano Pedagogy,

Rhythm Sessions and Attention Enhancing Exercises Integrally.

Individuals who participate in the Program absolutely makes a progress and the biggest reason behind this is that the BGP Module also includes the holistic approach of the Whole Brain Method within itself. Module focuses on brain improving.

BGP Module is effective on increasing attention span.

Improves literacy skills and learning ability.

Provides progress on problem solving-posing ability, Self-confidence development, Motivational Boost, Progress on Academic Success,

Elimination of Speech and Language Disorders and Disturbances (Upon applying it along with the Voice and Speech Module),

Provides development in cognitive skills, gross and fine motor skills, Psychological development, Behavioral development, Development in social communication.

Brain is our only organism that can alter its structure on “abstract” matters and “abstract dimensions” despite its “nerveless” and “concrete” structure. Past and recent studies show evidently that our brains constantly change due to our learning and environment. This process is called neuroplasticity. In simple terms, our brains change when we learn something new. The brain has the ability to evolve physically, functionally and chemically in a lifetime. This ability underlies in the scientifically proven brain exercises and practices. These have the characteristic of developing the brain through recurring or executive activities without being on medication. Naturally there are circumstances that require medication but in recent years scientist approve these programs as support methods even in these types of conditions. As a result of BGP Module practices, every individual certainly makes a progress. The method that is distinctly used from these programs cancels out the possibility to stay on the screen (Edufeedback PA and Screened Neurofeedback) at the moment / period (Concert Practices with Headphones) of application of the frequently encountered progress by using real mechanisms due to the cases still being discussed in the old programs where no results are obtained. Analysis Phase is required at the first stage to determine the characteristics of the students.

Neuroscientific Approach

Quality music along with Neurofeedback and Edufeedback brings in new neural interconnections to the brain and expedites the brain growth. For example, corpus callosum is thicker in musicians. Corpus callosum establishes the connection between the right and the left hemisphere and simplifies the communication between the hemispheres. On the contrary, while listening to poor music before birth and in early life stage hinders the brain growth and formation of new neural interconnections, on the other hand the special mathematical formation in the voice creates changes in the individual by stimulating alpha waves.

Private concert programs are created in the BGP Module of the Whole Brain Method. Concert sessions consist of various audio, music and speech programs that are prepared by the sound engineers who has international identity for frequency diversity, span, sequence and metronome. Exercises that enhance attention, open up perceptions proceed simultaneously and privately with the “Psychologist Module” via headphones within the “BGP Module” as recurrently and consecutively.

Academic cooperation for the Whole Brain Method BGP Module is being maintained with world’s leading, universally accepted universities in their field within the scope of proven methods and sources.

Music and sounds used in the concert sessions are primarily resolved in the auditory centers on the temporal lobes which are the adjacent parts of our brain. After, the meaning of these data is being analyzed in the “binding” (association) fields that are located in the left-back side part of our brain and that contain the special area which we know as the Wernicke’s area, called the parietal-temporal-occipital cortex.

After that, “emotive” meanings of music are being decrypted by our brain circuits channeling the musical data in the internal parts of the brain which we know as the “limbic system” areas that control our emotions and inner world. According to this decipherment, complex reactions are being produced through the upper parts of our brain and the control center which we call the hypothalamus. Our muscle strain can be defused, our eyes can present physical reactions and even the operation mode of our immune system can be modified. These actualize rather in the “left” hemisphere of our brain. The equivalent of these areas in the right hemisphere is providing additional data to the limbic system that will ensure the emotional decipherment by performing the “harmonic” analysis of the music.

BGP Module, helps to improve the learning abilities of the school-age children. Faster reading skills for the students; trainings for the children with learning disability in terms of writing, comprehension and thinking skills; reducing stress and distress can be achieved by music. According to the scientists, music increases cognitive thinking ability. Since there is a strong relationship between the cognitive thinking and music, brain activity increases for the ones who engage in music or often listen to music. As a result of the researches conducted in the Friedrich Schiller University in Germany, it is confirmed that the people who engage in music either in Professional or in amateur sense have bigger brains.

The assessment Doreen Kimura has come up as a result of her researches about the right ear is that the “REA (Right Ear Advantage=Right Ear Preference) is the key factor behind learning since right ear enables the quick perception in the speech.” (“Functional Asymmetry of the Brain in Dichotic Listening,” Cortex, 3, 163-178/)

The exercise that dwells upon the effect of hearing and listening ability of the right ear on learning helps to improve the brain functions of the individual by activating functions such as perception which is the function of the left brain, concentration, interpretation and creative thinking.  It provides the left and right hemisphere of the brain to operate compatibly with more than one area to operate organizedly and in this way making it available to think multi directional and thus strengthening the neurological connections that are built between thoughts.  Within the program that is established with the criteria determined privately, program is exercised over 4 weeks, 6 or 7 days a week with 1 hour a day session.

Piano pedagogy and rhythm sessions are applied to the individual simultaneously and sequentially with the concerts to come up with a permanent and full result based upon the efficiency of the holistic approach of the Whole Brain Method within the scope of BGP Module. With numerous international academic research, it is proven that piano raises the level of intelligence and attention spans of kids and that the rhythm sessions have positive influence on the brain. In the universities in developed countries throughout the world, the view that the authorities universally come together is the fact that piano pedagogy improves different skills of the brain.

Music also affects academic performance positively. Faster reading skills for the school-age children; trainings for the children with learning disability in terms of writing, comprehension and thinking skills; reducing stress and distress can also be achieved by music. It is confirmed that playing a musical instrument on a regular basis provides the growth of the parts of the brain associated with vision, hearing, moving and coordination.

In the research within the body of Toronto University which is only one of the many studies conducted on the effect of piano pedagogy on the brain, IQ levels of the students that have received either a piano pedagogy or a voice training for 9 months are compared with the IQ levels of the students that has not received the same training at the end of that period. It is observed that the IQ levels of the students that had received the training has been increased. (Study conducted by E. Glenn Schellenberg, Mississauga Toronto University.)

Brain training includes the development of the cognitive skills. These skills can make us different from other people. Actually, people identified as cleverer are the ones who have the ability to use these skills more effectively. As part of Whole Brain Method within the BGP Module, memory and attention enhancing brain training programs that include brain exercise application program according as the ranking and rating determined as a result of the analysis performed to the individual simultaneously and intelligent games program are created.

Playing is one of the most essential elements in the children’s education. In the case that the BGP Module applied student is among the age range of a children, additionally, play therapy steps in for the students desired to have improvement in education and communication skills with playing. On the intelligent games programs within the BGP Module of the Whole Brain Method, there are plays that provide improvement in the fields of memory, attention, reasoning, problem solving, communication, critical thinking, creative thinking, decision-making and concentration.
